OZONE’s research into light-wing construction began back in 2001 with the introduction of the Peak, one of the first modern mountain-specific wings. The Ultralite series followed, and has been widely considered the benchmark for Hike & Fly wings ever since. The 4th generation of the Ultralite series is a totally new design that is packed with new features and technology. The UL4 delivers a higher level of efficiency, increased glide performance, higher top speed, more agility, and even easier inflation behaviour. To top it off, the UL4 is a few grams lighter than any previous Ultralite, with even smaller pack volume!
Over the past 15+ years of lightweight paraglider development here at OZONE, our light wings have launched from the summit of Everest, competed in every edition of the X-Alps, and broken vol-biv distance records around the world. The Ultralite series remains very close to the OZONE R&D Team’s heart, as everyone on our team is a keen mountain explorer or hike & fly pilot.
As such, development of our lightweight equipment is continuous, and we have gained a lot of experience and knowledge working with lightweight materials and special construction techniques, which has resulted in a wide range of wings from the innovative single surface XXLite to the X-Alps conquering LM5. The Ultralite 4 incorporates all of this know-how and experience into the lightest wing that we have ever certified. Because the Ultralite is actually a full sized wing, launching and landing it is as safe and easy as in a normal paraglider, allowing you to use it with confidence in the most extreme conditions: at high altitude, in deep snow, or on the most difficult launches.
The UL4 offers enough performance to thermal, ridge soar, or even go XC with security and comfort. Our aim whilst designing it was to increase the performance, speed, and agility of its predecessors without compromising the safety, durability or pack volume. Its reduced weight is a result of a modern sail construction using an intelligent mix of 27g Porcher Skytex, Dominico N20D, and Dominico N10D, which have a proven track record of longevity.
The new profile, internal structure, and riser design allows the wing to reach a higher top speed with improved efficiency throughout the speed range, thanks to 3D shaping. A 14% reduction in overall line drag and optimised leading edge openings have also improved efficiency. The planform remains similar to its predecessor, with the same low aspect ratio – this maintains comfort and ease of use, and is the foundation of the Ultralite’s exceptional safety behaviour. The risers feature extended speed range, and low-friction rings for additional weight savings.
Fully certified and available in 4 sizes, the Ultralite 4 is suitable for pilots from beginner-intermediate to expert, and a wide range of pilot weights. The Ultralite 4 is designed for hike and fly pilots and anyone who is keen to own a second wing for easy travelling. Although it is a full sized wing in the air, the Ultralite’s extremely light weight and compact design folds into an almost pocket size, meaning that you can take it with you anywhere, anytime. Imagine fitting your glider, harness, reserve parachute and helmet all under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment on your next vacation!
THE OXYGEN1 HARNESS
The Oxygen1 harness is sold as an option to accompany the Ultralite 3. At just 1,3kg, the Oxygen1 is a very light harness that also converts into a backpack. However, comfort has not been sacrificed. With cushioned back and leg strap supports and fully padded shoulder straps, we’ve created the Oxygen1 with the pilot’s comfort in mind – while flying and while hiking.
THE OZO HARNESS
Need to go lighter? The OZO is a reversible harness / backpack made from ultra-lightweight materials. It is designed specifically for use with OZONE’s range of modern lightweight wings, but can be used with any paraglider. The harness is available in one size, with the bag available in either a 26L or 33L volume, weighing in at 580 and 585g, respectively. Every detail of the OZO’s construction has been optimized for weight, and it is one of the lightest available reversible harnesses today. Although the OZO is extremely lightweight, it is fully load tested and will last for many seasons of use if properly cared for.
THE F*LITE HARNESS
Need to go even lighter than the OZO? The F*Lite was born out of a simple idea: design the lightest possible paragliding harness. To achieve this, a unique and carefully calculated Dyneema structure reinforces the sailcloth seat for a total weight of only 102.1 grams in the M size! The F*Lite is designed specifically for the most serious hike & fly pilots and para-alpinists. It is EN load tested to 100kg.
Maximum versatility. The SWITCH is designed for speed flying, speed riding, and hike & fly. It is durable and full-featured, for pilots who want lots of options. It can be configured in “slick” mode, which is a robust and comfortable harness / pack that works well for hike & fly. Or, you can quickly zip on the reserve compartment and inflatable back pro, for extra protection and higher flights.
*There is always a chance that another dual surface design has been recently certified, but as of early 2017 the UL4 is still the world’s lightest!

ABOUT CUSTOM COLOURS
Ozone encourages you to customize your own personal colour combination for your wing. Customization generally incurs a fee. Once you’ve decided you can share your design with your friends, or if you are ready to order, send it to your local Ozone dealer to verify the charge and place the final order.
Please note that because the glider will be built specifically for you in the Ozone factory, payment must be received before production can begin.
FABRIC COLOURS AND UV RESISTANCE
Please be aware that the colour you see on your screen may not accurately represent the actual fabric colour. Secondly, different cloths specifications with the same color name may vary slightly, please see here for an example. Given the wide varience in monitor calibration and the fabric appearance in different light and colour combinations, it is impossible to perfectly represent fabric colour on screen. If you have any doubts about the colours, look at photos of various wings on our website to see them in different light and colour combinations or contact your local dealer to see the fabric in person.
All of the fabric that we use undergoes extensive testing in prototype colour phase to ensure colourfastness, mechanical stability, porosity, and general longevity before we put it into production. Once our fabric is in production, every meter of it is rigorously inspected upon arrival in our factory, and fabric which does not pass our stringent quality control standards is returned to the manufacturer. We are frequently asked, "Which colours last the longest, or have the best UV resistance?" All of the colours that we stock score between 4 and 5 on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the highest possible rating for longevity.
