Aereas (Aerials) is a series of films produced by Ozone team pilot Sylvestre Campe for Brazilian TV channel Canal Off. Sylvestre, together with another Ozone team pilot Kester Haynes are traveling in search of the most extraordinary and challenging places to fly a paramotor. Each episode is a real story with its up and downs as nothing has been staged. The films show pure paramotor adventures and incredible flights, which simply inspire to fly more, travel more, and explore more. I hope you enjoy it. Each episode is 20 min long in English and Portuguese.
In Episode 1 Sylvestre and Kester travel together to the Philippines to fly over Mount Pinatubo, Vulcano notorious for its eruption in 1991, the second-largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century. Sylvestre lands out due to motor cut!

He flew in Ascot Racetrack (UK), city center of Budapest in Hungary, Chiba in Japan, Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi and many other wonderful places. Stuff bags are very popular among paramotor pilots and one of the common questions we get is how to pack a wing into a stuff bag and still keep the plastic rods undamaged. Here is Lorran Michaels explaining his technic.
To prolong the life of your wing and to keep the plastic reinforcements in the best possible condition it is very important to pack the wing carefully. Ozone recommends to use the concertina packing method so that all of the cells rest alongside each other and the plastic reinforcements are not unnecessarily bent. Using an Ozone Saucisse or Saucisse light pack will help preserve the life of the wing and aid with the speed and ease of packing.
Ozone team pilot Raffaele Benetti builds an electric engine for Ozium 2 harness, which offers easier and longer xc flights!
During last year Coupe Icare 2019 Raffaele Benetti presented a new electric motor built into an Ozone Ozium 2 harness. He also demonstrated the take-off, climb and flight-by several times using Ozone Viper 3.
Raffaele talks about his project: “I have been flying paragliders for 24 years and I understand the pain of most paragliding pilots “wasting” time to travel to the mountains and waiting for good conditions to fly. I know that an option to take-off from the flat level independently would be an attractive alternative. A standard paramotor is not an answer, because the performance and sensation are very different to what paragliding pilots are looking for. Thinking of a better solution, I came up with this idea. I started to build a prototype 2 years ago using an Ozone Ozium 2 harness. My target was “no compromises”, light weight machine, with the same feeling as the original harness: same position, same weight shifting, minimalize drag from the motor and prop and easy to install on any standard harness. My experience in flying and building paramotors obviously helped me to find good solutions and to finish the first prototype in a short time ready for flight tests. I loved it from the first flight. The sensations in flight is completely different than usual paramotor flying, the position is different, glide, the feeling in the air due to hang points, the combination of all made me feel like I discovered a new way to fly!
The unit I displayed in the last Coupe Icare (2019) weights 14 kg, including a 16A 44 volts lithium battery. Motor and 80 cm propeller have about 40 kg of thrust. This is enough power to take off from the ground and climb high enough to catch the first thermals on an average thermic day. Anyone can fly it, but it is necessary to get special training for the engine preparation and maintenance. For paragliding pilots with less paramotoring experience I recommend to take off from a paragliding take-off or a small hill. I think this new motor is a fantastic solution for anyone who lives far away from the nearest paragliding spot or simply anyone who is interested in a new way of flying.
Of course, I am thinking about further development, I am working with Minari Engine to build a new electric motor with more thrust and a bigger propeller. In addition, I am planning to develop a conventional engine to reduce the price and give more flight time so that it can be used not only as a means to climb on a paragliding but also as a new paramotor machine for long and comfortable xc flights.

Leah is a talented and passionate acro PPG pilot from Florida, USA. Leah flies almost daily, training acrobatic flight in paraglider and paramotors, both. She has participated in many national and international paramotor events, and in 2020 she is planning to compete in the Classic and Slalom PPG World Championships.
Leah says, “I fly because, like so many others, I had dreams of running into the air. I find peace, focus, exhilaration, and meaning in flight. My goals are to master acro in paramotor as well as start slalom racing. I hope to be an inspiration and model to female pilots. I would love to travel the World visiting all the events and share the passion of flying with international community”

Big Congratulations to the Ozone Team for taking the podium of Spanish Slalom Open Championships which took place last few days in Bornos, Spain. This was one of the biggest slalom competitions of the season with 49 pilots competing from 9 different countries with 7 tasks flown.
Alex Mateos won flying the Freeride 14 followed by Nicolas Auberts, also flying the Freeride 14 in 2nd place overall. Alex says: “Everything went well, the training of this year paid off. I wish we could have flown more tasks but the results are there, so I’m very happy!” The big surprise came from new Ozone Team pilot Bartek Nowicki who finished 3rd overall. After flying Dudek for many years, polish pilot Bartek decided to change to the Ozone Freeride this season. It is a completely different wing to fly, requiring a different technique and style and despite a minimum of training he managed to win the Polish Slalom Championships earlier this year. Thank you Bartek.
Marie Mateos – the only girl amongst the top level pilots displayed her class once again, leaving behind many pilots who can only dream of getting to her level! Maries says: “This is the first time for me that I am so close to the podium in slalom competition. I am very happy with this result, especially with 7 valid tasks where I finished 4 times in the 3rd position. Nevertheless, I think with more training I can get the podium next time”. Go for it Marie!
Once again, the Coupe Icare has come and gone, with all of the madness and excitement that one would expect from the world’s largest paragliding festival.
As every year Alixa/Ozone stand was not a traditional display of Ozone branding. Our friend, Mathieu de Quillacq, always manages to set us up with something original and non-commercial.
This year Ozone Power revealed the latest new products: Kona 2 based on the Buzz Z6 and EN B universal paragliding and paramotor wing.
Ozone Team pilots, Alex Mateos and Nicolas Aubert participated in the Parabatix Sky Race (slalom / precision competition), which took place on plateau of St Hilaire and the landing of Lumbin during three days of the event. Both of them flew Freeride 14 and ended up on the podium winning the overall final run. Congrats to all of the pilots and thank you for a great show!
Also, on Saturday afternoon the crowds enjoyed a PPG show put on by Alex and Marie while Raffaele Benetti were presenting his new project – electric paramotor for paragliders.
