New Speedster 3

New Speedster 3 is now available to order!

The Speedster 3 combines the well-proven design elements of the Speedster 2, Freeride slalom and our high-performance paraglider range: The arc, planform, aspect ratio, tab positioning, profile and intake positions are very similar to the Speedster 2 but blended with the internal structure and line rigging of the Freeride.

Speedster 3 is the most efficient Speedster yet. Ideal for long XC flights, classic competitions and fun slalom races.  The OZRP Reflex profile accepts large amounts of turbulence without collapse throughout the speed range so it is well suited for flying in thermic conditions.

The character of the Speedster 3 is determined by the wing loading and the use of the optional 2D steering system. Centred in the weight range with the standard brake set up, the wing is an efficient climber perfect for normal XC flying. Installing the 2D system further improves the responsiveness, control and agility of the wing. Flying a smaller size at the top of the range transforms the character completely into a dynamic and agile wing with high levels of precision, perfect for low level carving or fun slalom racing.

Please visit the Speedster 3 web page or contact an Ozone dealer for more information and prices.

New Mojo Power 2

We are happy to announce that the new Mojo Power 2 is now available to order.

Mojo PWR 2 is an EN-A certified, non-reflex, versatile wing for both free flying and powered flight. It is suitable for students in training but ideal for the newly qualified. It is reliable and dependable, perfect for pilots who require an easy, safe and solid wing for their first 100s hours of paramotor experience as well as paragliding ridge soaring, thermalling and XC flying.

New Mojo Power 2 is a development of current Mojo Power, which had been one of the most successful beginner wings in Ozone Power range. Comparing to Mojo Power several important characteristics have been improved such as inflation, handling and speed – the most desirable features in paramotor beginner wings. From the first take off you are going to feel the difference in inflation, especially in nil wind! Handling is much more fun, precise and direct like rest of the Ozone wings are known for! We added maximum trimmer and accelerator range possible to make it more attractive beginner paramotor wing.

Please ask the nearest Ozone dealer for more information and prices. Web site with full description and technical specification will be launched soon!

New Spyder 3 20

New size 20 has been added to the Spyder 3 range. The smaller size of the Spyder 3 is designed for the lightest pilots with a total take-off weight up to 100 kg. Heavier loaded will gain more dynamic characteristics than the bigger sizes and require higher skills.

Emilia Plak says:  “The new Spyder 3 20 is a perfect wing for female pilots who fly with a light paramotor. My total take off weight is 90 kg with an Atom 80, and for me it is a great wing for every day flying, very stable, fast and agile!

New ROADRUNNER – ground handling wing

The Roadrunner is an easy to use and highly forgiving paraglider that is designed specifically, and only, for ground-handling training. It is optimized for use in wind speeds that are too high to practice with a standard sized paraglider, but is also easy to use in light or zero wind conditions.

Schools will love the ease of use and the cost-savings. Save your “flight” wings for flying, instead of wearing them out for ground-handling. The Roadrunner was designed from the start with price in mind, with the goal to increase training efficiency while lowering costs for schools.

Kids love it too! Introduce younger and lighter pilots to the joys of kiting.

Cada episodio dura 20 minutos y está en inglés y en portugués. are traveling in search of the most extraordinary and challenging places to fly a paramotor. Each episode is a real story with its up and downs as nothing has been staged. The films show pure paramotor adventures and incredible flights, which simply inspire to fly more, travel more, and explore more. I hope you enjoy it. Each episode is 20 min long in English and Portuguese.

En el primer episodio, Sylvestre y Kester viajan juntos a Filipinas para volar sobre el Pinatubo, el volcán que se hizo famoso por la erupción que tuvo en 1991 y que fue la segunda erupción terrestre más grande del siglo 20. Sylvestre debe improvisar un aterrizaje ¡por una parada de motor!travel together to the Philippines to fly over Mount Pinatubo, Vulcano notorious for its eruption in 1991, the second-largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century. Sylvestre lands out due to motor cut!

Tenemos planeado publicar un episodio cada semana en IGTV, la  página de Facebook  de Ozone Paramotor y el canal de Vimeo de Ozone Gliders.

How to pack a wing into a stuff bag

Stuff bags are very popular among paramotor pilots and one of the common questions we get is how to pack a wing into a stuff bag and still keep the plastic rods undamaged. Here is Lorran Michaels explaining his technic.

To prolong the life of your wing and to keep the plastic reinforcements in the best possible condition it is very important to pack the wing carefully. Ozone recommends to use the concertina packing method so that all of the cells rest alongside each other and the plastic reinforcements are not unnecessarily bent. Using an Ozone Saucisse or Saucisse light pack will help preserve the life of the wing and aid with the speed and ease of packing.

Electric engine for Ozium 2 harness?

Ozone team pilot Raffaele Benetti builds an electric engine for Ozium 2 harness, which offers easier and longer xc flights!

During last year Coupe Icare 2019 Raffaele Benetti presented a new electric motor built into an Ozone Ozium 2 harness. He also demonstrated the take-off, climb and flight-by several times using Ozone Viper 3.

Raffaele talks about his project: “I have been flying paragliders for 24 years and I understand the pain of most paragliding pilots “wasting” time to travel to the mountains and waiting for good conditions to fly. I know that an option to take-off from the flat level independently would be an attractive alternative. A standard paramotor is not an answer, because the performance and sensation are very different to what paragliding pilots are looking for.  Thinking of a better solution, I came up with this idea. I started to build a prototype 2 years ago using an Ozone Ozium 2 harness. My target was “no compromises”, light weight machine, with the same feeling as the original harness: same position, same weight shifting, minimalize drag from the motor and prop and easy to install on any standard harness.  My experience in flying and building paramotors obviously helped me to find good solutions and to finish the first prototype in a short time ready for flight tests. I loved it from the first flight. The sensations in flight is completely different than usual paramotor flying, the position is different, glide, the feeling in the air due to hang points, the combination of all made me feel like I discovered a new way to fly!

The unit I displayed in the last Coupe Icare (2019) weights 14 kg, including a 16A 44 volts lithium battery. Motor and 80 cm propeller have about 40 kg of thrust. This is enough power to take off from the ground and climb high enough to catch the first thermals on an average thermic day.  Anyone can fly it, but it is necessary to get special training for the engine preparation and maintenance. For paragliding pilots with less paramotoring experience I recommend to take off from a paragliding take-off or a small hill. I think this new motor is a fantastic solution for anyone who lives far away from the nearest paragliding spot or simply anyone who is interested in a new way of flying.

Of course, I am thinking about further development, I am working with Minari Engine to build a new electric motor with more thrust and a bigger propeller.  In addition, I am planning to develop a conventional engine to reduce the price and give more flight time so that it can be used not only as a means to climb on a paragliding but also as a new paramotor machine for long and comfortable xc flights.

We wish Raffaele good luck for the development and look forward to trying this new machine!

Cheers from all the Ozone Team
