Spain News - Trip to Andalucia VIDEO

This news piece has not yet been translated but will be soon, thank you for your patience.

Hi guys,

we just got back from an epic trip to Andalucía in the south of Spain where we went looking for new snowkiting spots. I went down to meet Thomas Ligonnet, (http://www.kite-eyes.com/)  pro snowboarder and amazing kite surfer and Thomas Auriol (thomasauriol.blogspot.com), also a superb kitesurfer and a great camera man. There was plenty of Snow, plenty of wind, we had plenty of kites so between us we had the ingredients to stir up a great snowkite session.

We went to El Puerto de la Ragua, a small cross country ski station near the ski station of Sierra Nevada, in the highest mountain range in Spain. From there we had to walk up for a steep half an hour until we came across the most amazing stretch of snow kite heaven, miles of snow with rolling hills, steep slopes and powder pockets everywhere, making this a mountain playground for us.

Thomas Ligonnet used his years of pro snowboarding to get the best out of the natural half pipes and windlip kickers as he ripped down hill and used the kite and mental winds to fire his way back up the same line. We had one day of amazing sunshine and one day of chaotic whiteout conditions, amazing weather systems in the mountains was an early season reminder to stay prepared. The new bags for the Frenzy and Manta are amazing and huge, I got my 12m Manta II 09, my 9m Frenzy FYX, my 6m Access XC 09 and a days fuel from http://www.mulebar.com/ and http://www.dwarf8.com/ plus all the usual safety devices, mobile phone and telescopic ski poles into ONE bag!! With the ability to put the skis on the side of the bag, when it came to walking we were sorted.

Please see the film for some great action and lovely shots of the amazing Andalucía countryside around.

Cheers and hope everyone is having an epic and safe winter out there.
