Hi Everyone,

Latest news from Chasta just back from his tour of the USA snowkiting dream areas. Even though the snow has been average this winter in Europe Chasta proves that its still possible to have classic moments here in the French Alpes. Read on for his report of their backcountry adventure with the rest of the Col Du Lautaret crew when the rest of France had no wind they managed to achieve a stunning backcountry tour of the mountains.

“Here we are for another sick day at the lautaret pass:
we’ve Est wind around 15 knots, and good small powder from last night, and i used my 12m Manta as usual.
Remember my Friend Gege, we filmed a lot together from the air and a lot from the ground finaly, we’ve some really sick footage (i hope), you’ll see next week, we need some time to edit it.
we began pretty early around 9am, and as you can see on picture 1, we tried to climb this huge couloir(Combeynot) but the wind was too East , so we decided right away to go to the other side , to climb one of the big valley we have around Lautaret pass, call 3 Evechets: I’ve to say it was the perfect wind to go straight to the top.
So you can see the sequence , number by number, but just remember it’s a big mountain riding , so never forget the stuff for you’re security.Water, bip, first aid kit, your mobil to call, compass if it’s get cloudy……

This is the kind of stuff that  remind me, i’ve maybe the best spot only ten minutes from my home.
I say it’s the best spot because , i learned to kite there, easy to reach every spot around, there are many roads, never really cold like Alaska, not too big like US, not to expensive like Norway, and it’s steep everywhere, hummmmm i like that. I traveled everywhere and this is it.

But the good thing is , it’s still  the beginning of our beautiful sport, so the “search” still on, can’t wait to see your spot guys.

keep you in touch
