Its all USA news this month, another wild rider we have is world class Telemark skier Ken Lucas. Ken is nuts about skiing with Telemark skis and nuts about his Frenzy04 and how it enables him to access the backcountry.
Ken is lucky to live in Hood River, Oregon and therefore has a difficult choice in the summer… kitesurf with the Frenzy or snowkite? Well the lucky b…..d can do both on the same day as they are only 45 minutes drive apart!! Here`s some news from the man himself and pictures of him at Mt Hood and Crater Lake!
“I kited 3 different routes on the south and east side of the Mt Hood. The East face and White River Canyon were epic days with light wind that pooped out early in the day but still provided memorable ski days. Sunday I snow kited up to a point above the famous Palmer Glacier. Ascended 1,000 meters of a 30degree slope in about 45 minutes using the Frenzy04 7.3 in 30-40 knots. Yeah, WINDY. I ran into a climber skinning up on his skis. I handed him my camera and he took a couple of photos. He said he was jealous and wanted one. This area is awesome for kiting. You are flying the kite within visibility of 2 major ski resorts….its sick”
