Day 14 - Frostbite strikes
Today has been a fairly quiet day. We have returned to the established norm of absolutely no wind, naturally precluding what would thus far have been an unheard of feat in Bear Dodging history; two whole consecutive days of kiting activity.
We have spent a significant part of today waiting. After yesterday’s big kiting session, Dan unfortunately has frostbite on his toes, as his ski boots were just too tight, causing him circulation problems. We don’t think he will lose any toes (though we are all placing bets on the quiet, of course), however we are unable to ski on with his feet as they currently are. Last night, not only did Dan have both his feet under Charlie’s armpits, but the warmth and love was reciprocated, with Charlie heating his feet under Dan’s armpits as well. It was a beautiful moment. Fear not, we have captured it all on camera for your pleasure as well.
Dan will be picked up by ski-doo tomorrow, by helicopter possibly if things get really dramatic…. We will then bid him farewell and keep heading south, wind permitting of course. Ricky, treat with him tender, loving care please when he gets home!
The highlight of our day was our superb re-enactment of England’s World Cup rugby defeat over Australia. Our empty plastic fuel can served as a perfect substitute for the ball and we kicked and threw it around and led the English to a very satisfying victory. Cynan was very unhappy. Let’s hope there is wind tomorrow and cricket does not have to feature.
