More than 60 riders from all over Europe braved some petty dubious weather to come and test themselves against the elements, beach and each other in what has become a pilgrimage for race buggy pilots. Ozone`s International team riders were also out in force hoping to keep up their winning ways with the new Yakuza !
Race day was far from perfect with strong and gusty cross offshore winds. Mix that up with some rain and a very wet beach and you could be thinking it was still winter..! However, The guys used the final 5m Yakuza It was hard just to keep any kite in the air at the start because it was right behind the big hotels with crazy turbulence. Gray and Björn had a perfect start. Gray even better and didn`t give away the lead for the whole 2 ½ hours.
Hardelot is always a real test for the riders, with many different surfaces and dangers to cope with, this year saw many riders not making the full distance.
The Yakuza proved to be to be a winner once again and we were all really happy and proud to see Graham and Bjorn coming in 1st and 2nd Damien Sehr (France) coming in 3rd.

Imlavee race 2005 @ Oostduinkerke, Belgium
The day after Hardelot, there was a race for the Belgian Championship in Oostduinkerke, called Imlavee 2005. Jasper, Belgian Ozone pilot, had invited Chris Hill and Graham Steel to compete. It was a sunny day with a nice beach and clean onshore wind good for sizes 6-10. A lot of spectators came to see the race, where 20 pilots from Belgium, France and the UK competed to win. There were 4 races held that day, all won with a good margin by Graham with the Yakuza.
Again the new kite showed its performance advantage over the rest of the fleet. Chris and Jasper also did very well with places in top 5 all the time and in the last race with the yakuza placing 1st and 2nd.
The final results were Graham on place 1, Chris on 4 and Jasper on 6. The weekend turned out to be very productive for Ozone!
The Yakuza has more than proved itself already this season and is now available in your local shop. Make sure you organize a demo with this Gem of a kite
