What ever Richard Branson does he pulls it of with style, and his 2004 summer party was no exception - it definitely rates as the most impressive private party I`ve ever witnessed with 15,000 + peeps trying out new activities, having fun and partying all day.

We were lucky enough to be invited to attend and help turn the thousands of Virgin staff and friends onto kites…

Most kiters will have already heard on the Flexi site the great news that Richard Branson`s is now into kitesurfing on his Necker Island in the Caribbean.

The lucky Ozone crew invited to his party included myself, Ozone UK distributor Chris Hill and Ozone KGB rider Glen “Butcher” with his lovely wife shelly. Unfortunately the wind was pretty pathetic over the 2 day party but at least we had clear, blue skies with 30 degree temperatures ensuring everyone made the most of the 2 days.

The Saturday was the main day and for 7 hrs we didn`t stop teaching with queues building up trying the new Samurais….the people interested were very diverse from kids right through to old peeps, showing just how versatile kiting truly is.

We handed out loads of our DVD, “Future Style” that showcases the many sides to kiting and we were overwhelmed by the response… we finally finished and packed up exhausted and headed to the main area where the huge stage and circus type tents were set up and settled down to some rocking music with the hilarious “Cuban Brothers” head lining the night ensuring the party went into overdrive!

Richard Branson also announced his latest venture called Virgin Unite… another great idea from his innovative company. Virgin Unite is a charity where he`s trying to motivate us all to start giving back to our communities to help the less fortunate…
