Rob Whittall, co-founder of Ozone Paragliders and chief designer of Ozone Kites and Speed-Wings, recently starred in this short film about the beautiful PPG flying in New Zealand.

The footage is inspiring on many levels - the natural vistas of the NZ coast, the tranquil glides over green landscapes, and the convenience of taking off and landing from home without being at the mercy of thermals

Fly alongside Rob as he soars above New Zealand’s West Coast with his Paramotor, in search of a little soul satisfaction. White Cloud Productions NZ joined forces with Rob to capture stunning images of Raglan and the surrounding area…presenting Surreal Perspectives.

What an amazing late winter we have in France at the moment. 25th April is here and still huge snowfalls every week.

So the french Ozone crew are planing great sessions as we can go to new spots, unreachable during winter, because some roads about 1.500m elevation are opening with the snow melting in the valleys.

The Southern Alps have great snow conditions although the flowers are growing up in the fields and on the trees everywhere around the villages.

Of course we are using the skins for skis and have to hike sometimes a little bit, but not too much actually, and then some incredible areas become available for super long sessions as the sunset doesn’t come till 8pm in spring.

Well, here is a cool video showing the Ride Up way of life, I mean climbing impressive mountains, packing the kite in the rucksac and then enjoying crazy freeriding runs.

The winter here is definitely not over and we are expecting some unforgettable sessions during the further weeks.

This is my new snowkiting video filmed during this great winter with my adventure friends, in the home to the Alps and Mount Etna volcano during the Ozone movie maker, where the Ozone team has conquered the summit from the north side.

I thank Stefano for organizing this fantastic adventure and my friends Pascal and Wareck for great pictures…

The season here in the Alps is not over yet, usually the spring gives us great moments.

Part of the Ozone crew have been snowkiting in Turkey, invited by Murat Bükey, the Ozone turkish distributor. We spent one week at the Mt Erciyes resort 2.230m, at the Ace Hotel, and we went snowkiting every day with Baris Düldül from Arlberg Sport shop and restaurant (www.arlbergsport.com)

Pretty lucky we were, as the weather was all the time perfect. Amazing snowpack, more than ever, here in the center of the Turkish country. Mt Erciyes 3.950m is situated near the big city Kayseri 1.000.000. Every day was windy, and for two days the North-West wind was blowing about 30 knots. Great fresh powder snow as well, but after the two day wind storm the snow turned into hard and frozen waves. Anyway, this super snow was covering large areas we’ve never been during the past two years, so we could discover new spots and new angles for great pictures.

Team riders Johann Civel (F) and Marek Zach (CZ) were going to the spot with Sébastien Bocos (F) from the Ride Up crew, but as well Martin Florek (CZ), Michele Leoni (It) and a few other kiters from CZ and Italy. Murat Bükey was with us all the time and that was a great pleasure to spend every session sharing our runs together. The snowkiting level was pushed up all the time by Marek, Johann and Michele, giving a real motivation to all other kiters from the crew.

The Erciyes spot is definitely perfect for hill-gliding as the wind remains super stable and the terrain is smooth, without any danger around, no rocks, no trees, nothing but soft and deep snow, the best for long flights. It’s not a good idea to promote the hill-gliding way but obviously lot of kiters are really loving it so when it’s done with complete safety, why not show it a little bit. That’s the reason we can see one pretty good picture beside, and you’ll see as well some parts in the video below.

Super video I did as the kiters managed really impressive moves and runs all along the week. The heroes are the kiters, don’t forget it. In Turkey, it seems that we can trust the weather forecast, quite every day right, so when they announced no wind on wednesday, Murat and Baris organized a visit to the famous Cappadocia country. What a wonderful day we had, nice houses made in the rock cones to keep fresh in the burning summertime, so esthetic and strange.

On the last day, for the first time the wind was blowing a little little bit more east. After a huuuge freestyling session on the northern area of the resort, I decided to give a try to the volcano which is impossible to reach with a kite when the North-West wind is blowing as it did all the days during the week and during the two trips we did there the years before.

Good idea as my kite was pulling in the right direction so after a while I managed to get really close to the high summits of Mt Erciyes. Johann Civel was joining after seeing me near the volcano bowl and we went together to the summit of one of the peaks. Amazing experience as you’ll see in the video, and Johann went skiing a steepy and thin slope between impressive rock cliffs. That was a perfect last day and great luck to add this run to our amazing week in Mt Erciyes.

Well, always try to stay as long as you can when going for a snowkiting trip. It’s so nice to be sure having the best conditions and bringing back the unforgettable footage and stories. Sincerely, we all thank you mister Murat Bükey, our journey in Erciyes resort was more than perfect. Next year, perhaps we’ll go discovering another place in the endless Turkish mountains which are more and more impressive as far as we drive to the Eastern areas.

The snowkiting sport is definitely the ultimate skiing and snowboarding way of life. And the story is only beginning. Let’s keep in touch for new adventures coming soon.

Il s’agit d’un road trip avec des amis pour avoir les meilleures conditions possibles chaque jour et explorer de nouveaux spots, tout ça partagé avec des amis. Cette année même le big boss d’Ozone Matt ne voulait pas rater cet événement et nous a rejoints.

La vidéo bien entendu ne montre qu’une toute petite partie du bon temps que nous avons passé. L’année prochaine nous irons à l’assaut d’un nouveau continent ! Celui de cette année est détruit.

Un jour de soleil et de vent, la team Alixa a decide de quitter le bureau pour aller partager une bonne session avec Rémy de kitelégende, l’école de snowkite du lautaret.

Après la longue route enneigée du col, nous sommes finalement arrives au parking tout proche du chalet en bois de Rémy: Alexandre et lui nous attendaient avec un groupe d’enfants … De potentiels futurs champions (tous natifs de la Meige).

Tous les mercredi, ces enfants se rencontrent ici pour découvrir le snwkite et améliorer leur niveau tout en s’amusant sur le meilleur spot de France.

Initiation avec la IMP 3 trainer 1m50 puis premier ride avec la Access 6m. Une journée pleine de neige, de soleil avec un vent parfait pour tous les riders… et les futurs champions.

Après quelques mois loin du Cyberworld, vous trouverez ici nos dernières videos de snowkite. La première est une video embarquée sur le fameux spot des 3 évéchés avec un run unusuel sur la face Nord. La seconde est la dernière video de la série Ride up. “Pack and ride” démontre avec brio le potential du freeride dans notre sport.

Marek “Murphy” Zach >> 1st Place Czech Snowkite Championships

Salut à tous

Marek Murphy Zach a gagné le championnat official tchèque de snowkite. L’évènement prenait place à Abertamy sur la frontier germane-tchèque et regroupait principalement de la race et du freestyle.

Les organisateurs avaient construit de gros kicker et rampes grâce à l’organisation d’un ratrack et le parcours de race slalomait à travers arbres et collines.

Du fait que le sprt semble gagner considérablement en popularité en République Tchèque, de nombreux nouveaux riders étaient présents, tous de très bons niveaux aussi bien chez les homes que chez les femmes.

Une organisation de niveau international avec de bons price money.

Bien joué Murphy!

Antarctic ICE Expedition Finish >> Dixie and Sam are off the ice

Après une odyssée épique de plus de 5013 km, 74 jours sur la glace, et avec un record de distance à leurs noms, Dixie Dansercoer et Sam Deltour viennent de boucler leur expedition antarctique.

Récemment Dixie a annoncé en pregnant quelques precautions que lui et Sam en avaient fini avec cette expedition et allaient doucement programmer leur retour d’antarctique.

Ceci semblait être une decision lucide : le point sur lequel il se trouve actuellement est un excellent lieu pour un atterissage d’avion, la saison favorable en Antarctique se termine. Il y avait aussi beaucoup d’autres details qui ont motive cette decision et tous aboutissent à la meme conclusion : c’est maintenant qu’il faut quitter l’Antactique pour rester en sécurité et finir sur une bonne note.

Dixie et Sam ont bien été récupérer sur leur camp de base et ont voyage en toute sécurité en direction de la progress station.

Toute l’équipe Antarctique Ice Expedition voudrait remercier l’incroyable équipe Tac/alci logisitic. Leur expertise dans ce vaste continent est simplement hallucinante. Un merci tout particulier pour notre pilote dévoué (Cowboy Chuck) sans qui l’aventure n’aurait pu être possible. Tout le monde va bien, tout le monde est heureux. Dixie nous a appellee juste avant de quitter le camp final. Avec le bruit des helices de l’avion en arrière plan, il s’est exclamé : c’est la pleine lune! Il y a une pleine lune qui nous huide jusqu’à la maison !
