The long awaited end of May bank holiday finally arrived. This weekend usually signifies the start of the British summer, with most of the UK`s kiting community heading to The Middle Wallop festival. Instead, we headed off to a secret location to celebrate Candice and Appo`s birthdays - both being special friends of the Ozone UK team.
You know you`re heading somewhere special when the dual carriageways turn into single-track roads and all you can see is picturesque land and seascapes. With camping just a short walk through the dunes away from the beach, taking in the chilled out atmosphere was easy. After a few beers a good chat and some tunes the space hopper races began, for all able bodied persons! Which at that time of night were not many - who could walk straight let alone bounce straight!
Saturday morning we were woken to the magic sound of rustling tents and whistling kettles. So after a quick cuppa we were on the beach armed with 10m Frenzy`s. Soon the wind was blowing 15mph gusting 32mph so for the afternoon session the 5m Frenzy came out, and it was used to max out across the sand blasted bay making the most of all the space, getting speed runs in across the incoming tidal flow.
Again on Sunday we were greeted by the same knarley conditions, the decision to take the Access`s out as opposed to our biggest Frenzy`s was a top decision as again the whole beach was moving.
It was one of those magical places where awesome things happen and as the sun was setting Appo and Mark realised the opportunity for an epic pic was there. Appo loaded up his Frenzy and jumped the setting sun… which was a fitting end to an awesome trip.
Thanks to all who made this trip a laugh a minute weekend.
Mikee
