Eric & Sarah - Back on the Ice cap

Eric

Eric and I have spent this last winter in the Canadian arctic, training and running 30 dogs. After a busy winter we set out for a two month dog sledding trip around Ellesmere Island. Returning from that expedition in June, we had only a couple weeks to enjoy the warmth before heading back out to extend our winter, this time to kite!

With sleds filled with Ozone kites, 25 days of food, fuel and equipment, we are back in the land of 24 hrs of light, and katabatic winds: yes indeed I am talking about Greenland!!

This time however, our route and goals are different. Setting out to do a short 500 km East to West crossing of the Greenland Ice cap, we are here to teach our two other team member the tricks and trades of snow kiting expeditions, and on the side test out some new toys including a small wind turbine.

So while we travel across the ice cap teaching Will and Toby, we will also keep posting updates with info to help you get the most out this upcoming winter, either for a night or a month, on your own snow kite adventures!
