Kari News -Finally some snow under my skis again

Hi everyone,

It was a really nice feeling to drive up to Haugastøl after many months away from this mountain… And it was even better to come up and meet all the snow kiters and the Kaupang family again. Haugastøl is like my second home and it’s good to be back in the kitchen with Liv. I love tasting the good food that she is making (with my help…) and drinking Eldbjørg’s specialty; hot chocolate!

Ida Neerbye, Ragnhild Sanden and I were taking the trip together and we got two really good days of kiting. Sun, wind and powder snow are a perfect combination and were making the days as awesome as they can be. The frozen water was just waiting for us to play. It was also Ragnhild’s first session on the snow and I don’t think it will be her last. At first it felt strange to wear all of the equipment again, but after some jumps the feeling was back and my boots suddenly didn’t seem that heavy anymore.

I always miss the mountains when I am out travelling, and now I remember why. To be up here on the plateau and play around with my Ozone kite gives me a feeling of freedom. Having the fresh cold air in my face I know that there’s no other place I’d rather be. Norway and Haugastøl will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks to the Kaupang family for always making these trips to something unique.

Happy New Year everyone!
