Ozone kiters finaly could really express themselves during the last week in New-Zealand moutains. After a difficult week for the Wanakite event, with no wind, the good conditions came back for five days.
First was in Snowfarm in the Cardrona valley, where Chasta and me found a sweet hutt for cross country skiers, this hutt lost in the middle of nowhere on the ridge. Here Chasta had an incredible session with a huge natural half-pipe. We continued with some video courses for the Ozone 2008 DVD, from the complete begining for snowkiting to the top level freestyle and freeride backcountry.
Then, on the opposite side of the valley, in the Cardrona ski resort, Chasta and big-boss Matt met a very large fresh powder slope where they went for freeriding, and then unpacked the kites to come back snowkiting. Chasta went to the extreme top of this mountain and then, packed again his kite to enjoy a 2 minutes powder freeriding run, jumping huge windlips, transfered between the snowdomes, and… unpacked again the kite to come back up.
Secret footage for next video clips on this website. One perfect day again with Matt, Chasta and Jon Imhoof in Snowfarm with 20knots wind and powder. Finaly, we’ve got a 4×4 and snowmobiles session to get to the bottom of Mt Hector on the Nevis ridge. A very long crossing along the endless snow dunes getting to the end 1000m above the Queenstown Lake. A session which ended at the sunset.
It was a so perfect last week, I hope you will enjoy the video clip attached. Now, the kiters are far, they are looking for waves and wind in Moorea, French Polynesia. Check it out on the Kitesurf pages.
Cheers friends snowkiters around the world.
Thanks to come to look at our pages.
See you next winter.
Have fun.
