snowfall forecast for tonight

Hi everyone,

We are still around and still fine. So we arrived at Chris Gebbies in National Park on the 1.8. stayed there for a couple of days and waited for better weather to get up to Mt. Ruapehu Volcano unfortunately without any luck. Instead of snowkiting we took the mountainboards and buggys to the local golf course just underneath the Volcano or went river rafting thru the rain forest which was great fun as well.

We jumped on the ferry to the south island on Sunday 4th August and made our way to Mt Lyford (1700m) the first serious mountain on the south Island. Again the snow let us down and we went further to Round Hill at Tekapo Lake which would have been an incredible snowkiting spot with some more snow and wind.

After a night in Wanaka we made our way up to Treble Cone ski resort just 30 min drive from there. Just on the other side of the resort on the steep mountain we found some wind and off we went. It was pure alpine style kiting, super steep with little canyons, rocks and riffs everywhere.

We stayed another night in Wanaka and went to Snow Farm the next day. There was just enough snow to ride this amazing spot. Endless when it is completely covered with rolling terrain.

Heavy storms and rain that just turned into snow let us rest at Queenstown for the last two days. The forecast is looking great for tomorrow afternoon and next week with fresh pow pow so we will be out there riding again. There are so many spots to discover so we will be busy trying to explore at least a few of them.
More news are coming as soon as they happen

Cheers for now
