Chasta at Baleys beach
Hi everyone, Last weekend 27.+28.07. Pascal, Matt and me went already to Port Waikato for the Blue Balls Buggy Bash (Blue Balls - because it is supposed to be cold at that date) to test the new Depower Kites in the Buggy and Landboard. Together with Chris Gebbie our NZ distributor and Sukay NZ Kitesurf Champion and core of the Kiwi Buggy Crew we had an amazing light wind day on Saturday while it was howling and pissing down like hell on Sunday.
After a late arrival of Chasta Sunday night in Hamilton where the press already spoke about our trip we were now completed and on our way to discover this amazing country.
Because of the lack of snow and the bad weather around Wanaka we decided to head east north to get some more landkiting and kitesufing. We’re in Wakaka where we hooked up with Sukay and her husband Decay to hit some local beaches around.
We had a wicked day yesterday on Baleys Beach on the West Coast. Incredible beach about 50km long and perfect for Landkiting and Kitesufing. I rode about 30km downwind in the buggy before we stopped at huge dunes we all ripped up in the buggies. We had a great time there testing the smaller Kites to their max in more than 35 knots.
Even Chasta was having great fun in the buggy see picture beside. We will be on our way to Chris Gebbie around Wanaka by tonight as the weather supposed to be good for snowkiting on Thursday.
More News will follow soon… Cheers Dom & The Team
