Distance traveled: 193 km
The day started windless, sunny and perfect for drying out all our gear, which had become somewhat damp. Equipment was draped over skis and hung on tent guy-wires. Soon our camp looked similar to an Everest base camp.
Some time around 5 PM, the winds started to pick up and the gentle breeze blew through the drying boots and stuff sacks. Two hours later we were out with the kites. The clouds were closing in, the visibility and contrast decreasing, but we were making miles!
We kite-skied all through the night till noon the next day. With our kites in the air for 13 hours, we covered just under 200 km; our best day yet! And this new mileage puts us past the 1,000 km completed mark. Definitely deserving some scotch in our Cocoa Camino hot chocolate!
