Hi Everyone

We are proud to announce that Polar explorer specialists Eric and Sarah McNair Landry have joined the Ozone Team. Eric and Sarah have incredible experience and successes crossing many of the Worlds Polar regions. Their experience and knowledge will be invaluable in helping us test our kite designs in the extremes they encounter.

Their experience and background in crossing vast ice caps and with numerous 1st’s is astonishing, take for example their record breaking crossing of Greenland East/West in just 7 days. Their experience in traveling long distances on snow with a kite is even more incredible when you consider their age. Sarah (20) and Eric (22) are the children of world leading polar guides Matty McNair and Paul Landry and can already be classed as leaders in their field.

Their next adventure they have named the “Pittarak Expedition” in an expedition set on inspiring youth to peruse their dreams. On may 24th 2007 this team of three competent adventures will embark on an unsupported South to North crossing of the Greenland ice cap, a 2300 km journey using only skis and kites. The Team have chosen the Frenzy 07 as their main mode of power but will also be taking the Haka, Cult and Yakuza 12m to find out which kite suits their needs best, we can’t wait for the feedback.

The Pittarak Expedition will reach youth through the expedition web site’s live updates and afterwards through schools, public presentations and workshops. During the live updates and school presentations, the team will share their day-to-day experiences, discuss their views on modern exploration, describe the beauty of the Polar Regions as well as discuss a “think for yourself” perspective on climate change.
