3rd year we are the British championship winning team!

This weekend was the last round the UK National Championships held at Ainsdale on Sea.

A hot sunny weekend with light offshore winds was forecast and with 6 possible races left al the top competitors were looking nervous as it could have been anyone`s victory!

Sat dawned with no wind but by midday the wind picked up and we were running up and down the beach with 14m kites in a gusty offshore wind. I came out victorious in the first 2 races after a battle with Pete Swann but in the last race the wind did a 180 in about 1 second catching me out with a nasty deflation and stuck in the soft sand I managed to recover and got 3rd place just behind Stuart Maxwell by 2m.

That was the racing over for Sat and everyone started doing the sums for the next day with a possible 3 more races and an extra discard. Quickly my team worked out that now even if I did not race on Sunday I had an insurmountable lead in the championships so with that in mind we went off to celebrate.

Sunday dawned with light winds again but by midday the wind switched on once more but this time with a lovely onshore. With no pressure on me I went all out for the wins and the Yakuza did not disappoint handing me 3 straight victories!

David Fulford had his best result of the year of 2nd place using the new Yakuza and is eagerly awaiting his new set.

This year I have won all but 1 race that I have entered with the Yakuza which suggests to me that it has to be the best kite on the market at the moment.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the team at Ozone for all the support and help and effort they have put in to making such a wonderful kite!
