On the SUMMIT of Mt Blanc! Seriously! Ozone Test Pilot Jerome Canaud managed to take a jacuzzi shortly before launching his Ultralite off the summit of the mountain...

An addendum to this news piece: a couple more photos at right, and a link to describe them here: http://www.jaccuzzi.ch/. Hanging out on the summit of Mt Blanc in style!

Also, some new photos from Vincent Marclay’s alpine ascent and Ultralite descent of the Grandes Jorasses, photos at bottom right!

As the summer thermals cool, and the mountains turn in color, pilots all over the world take advantage of the sometimes stable and clear early autumn air to get some great hike-flights in.

Recently, Dav and Jerome (designer, and test pilots) took the Ultralites to Mt Blanc for a little hike up and a long flight down, with their friends Thierry Guillard and Valerie Donius. Dav and Jerome summited in clear and cold conditions, and then enjoyed an almost 12,000′ / 3600m sled ride to the valley floor in Chamonix!

In the northwest USA, a couple of Canadian pilots, Richard Teszka and Kevin Ault, summited Mt Baker in excellent conditions. Richard and Kevin weren’t flying Ultralites, but they did enjoy the flight down on their Mantra M2 and Vulcan… click here for more photos.

Congratulations guys, and also to anyone who loves to earn their ride with a little exercise… enjoy the fall weather and check out the world’s lightest paraglider here.
