Local Flying :: Eze
:: Introduction
Eze is a medieval village, perched above the sea on the coast between Nice and Monaco. It is a place of art and gastronomy, and visited by many for its beautiful exotic gardens.
The flying site is on Mont Bastide, slightly to the north west of the village, and landing is on the beach at Eze. It is a pleasant, thermic site, but is not recommended in an easterly due to rotor coming off the ridge to the left of take-off.
The site is open from 1st October to 30th April.
:: Access
Take the D2564 east out of Nice to the Col d’Eze (Or exit the A8 at La Turbie and get on the D2564 going West). Park in the car park at the col (Mt Bastide is the mountain south of the road) and walk up the path for 30m, and out along the plateau (400 - 500m) which takes you to the tiny take-off area.
