Day 4, 17/7: Is just hiking allowed …?

An important decision had to be taken early in the morning. It was either go to the first mountain to try to take the opportunity of flying (6 hours walking) or just take the risk to go to the official start place of Innsbruck: the Hunngerberg; which was at about 40km.

I decided to walk to this far place as the weather didn’t seem to give much chance of real flying.

So I walked, walked and walked …I arrived at Innsbruck at 4′30, where another gust front cooled down the atmosphere. I climbed to the bottom of the cable where we decided to stay for the night.

I had a few blisters on my toes, but nothing crazy. My legs felt quite achy after the long walk of the day plus the one of the evening before. A total of 50-60 km… So as a treat we decided to stay in a B&B place next to the path.
