Hi everyone,

Every year the world buggy association organizes the European Championships after all countries have finished their national races. In 2006 Graveline, North of France invited the European buggy elite to their amazing beach to have a masterclass competition where Europes top riders can get together for the mother of all events. Unfortunately only one of our Team Riders – Erwann Mivielle from France - could make it.

He was our joker and we armed him with the latest Protos of the Yakuza GT. The level in the buggy competition is really high and anyone in the top 15 is actually a potential winner so any ranking within the top 20 is awesome. Erwann entered 2 races with the Yakuza GT Protos and achieved his best results with them during the Championships. He even started from last position in one race when another pilot became tangled in his kite yet he still made it up to the 9th place. One more lap and he would even make it to the top 3!

Congratulation to the great result from all here at Ozone!!!

Once again the Yakuza GT has archived an amazing result and we are looking forward to more. The testing is going on pretty good and we aim to have some sizes released at the beginning of December. As always we will keep you up to date with our news…

Read on for Erwanns report:

>>5th september, 12 o clock, I finished my work, I wnt to the train station to retrieve Celine, a camera women (it’s better than a guy;) And now it’s time to drive, 12 hours after, we could finally see the beach of Gravelines.
We arrived one day before the start to find my kites and buggy. Yes, Dom gave me some protos of Yak GT. I was so excited to test this new concept. John from Netherland brougth me an Apexx. I was full equiped with new “toys”.

On saturday, I tested protos of Yak GT 3.7 and 4.5m². They were so stable. I was happy and hoped that there was enougth wind during the week to use them in race.

We had a great European Championship with 9 races. There were so good wind condition. All days, when we arrived on beach, wind was slow. And few hours after, wind became stronger and turned a little bit. Unlucky, first and last day, we had rain (a lot), so we couldn’t do anything.

I used my 8.6 or 7.2m² during 6 races. Unlucky, my lines broke on first race and I was third, snifff… But it was start of EC, so everything was possible. Wind condition was a little bit to hard for my weight.

I used 6.8 m² Yak GT two times during EC. First time I finish third, my best place! and second race, some guy dropped their kite on my buggy on the starting line so I start like 50th possition, 30 minutes after I finished 9th… This kite is so stable, upwind is incredible, downwind is good. Depower with handle is real. I LOVE IT.

The race master did some crazy route using 10 turning mark. It was fun and technical. He did a race that lasted two hours. Big up for him.

Finally, I finished 8th, it is quite good. But I am anxious that all the new kites are ready. They are so powerfull…
See you
