Dublin Kite Club ‘KiteJam’
On Jan 27/28th , Dollymont beach, Southern Ireland was home to the inaugural Dublin Kite Club (DKC) ‘Kitejam’.
This epic event saw more kites on the beach than had ever been seen before at the DKC local.
A couple of us from Ozone UK were invited over, and arrived with the Ozone Tourbus jam packed with the new 07 range of kites, not to mention the superb DP Kites range and an 18 foot railslide to help along the festivities.
The scene is only very small here, but the level of riding was incredible, with a number of young Irish rippers led by Diarmuid Higgins of local Kiteshop Pure Magic, tearing up the sands on their KGB’s as well as the old skool crew, cruising about in buggies and soaking up the party atmosphere.
2 Days of great winds and even better Craic left us hungry for more and as a result, DKC Kitejam 2 is already at the front of everyones minds.
A Huge thanks to all the DKC crew , especially David and our Ozone man on the ground , Christophe , the funny frenchman for showing us an awesome time and feeding us non stop on Guiness and Smithwicks, to the dismay of our throbbing heads the next morning.
We’ll definitely be back for the sequel.
