Jerome Gimmicks

Hi Everyone

The Yakuza is still going from strength to strength with it consistently taking the top spots at every race in the World. The result list is impressive and if any kiter is serious about racing they know that to have the best chance of winning they need the Yakuza to be able to improve their race positions. Its the only kite to own if you have an empty trophy cabinet ;-)

Read on for Jerome Gimmicks account on his latest race. Jerome after testing the yakuza realized he could no longer race other brands kites and ordered his set of Yakuza’s to ensure he is competitive in the European race series

Jerome >> “Hi Matt & Bonsai,

Here’s a small update about me and the Yakuza’s ….. holy $hit the kite rocks for sure! Last weekend we had races here in Holland and it was the first time for some serious racing with some serious winds (5+ Bft).

Off course I never had the time to set my gear properly so everything was for its maiden flight and my first idea was I will have an fall back in the ranks as I don’t know the kite very well and have to get used to it. Well it was an surprise that that idea was totally wrong and from the start the competition between Michel Dekker, the Dutch Champion and myself has started. Michel was driving the 7.3 and I was driving the 6.0 the 7.3 was a bit to big so I was able to keep up with the 6 and the first race I passed Michel and drove most laps in front of him. But at the end the wind dropped a bit and in the last round Michel was able to pass me and snag away my first place so I ended up second. In the second race Arjen was in first place but he had an broken handle so he had to give away his first place and so the competition was again between Michel and myself.

I was riding the 5 meter and Michel the 6 meter as the wind had picked up and again at the end the wind dropped an bit an in the last round he was again able to pass me so Michel ended 1st and I ended 2nd. But after the race there was a problem for me it seemed that I started to early (just an half second ….) so I was placed 1 round back. A bummer for Yakuza results as I was overall 2nd but now ended up 5th (Damn #&$!&$!).

Anyway driving with the Yakuza was very fun and I was able to do things with it that I never could do with my old kites it seems that the Yakuza is driving better downwind as it is hanging more stable and you can drive more with the wind without collapsing the kite. Also turning at the markers is a lot easier than any kite I’ve used before.

So yes after driving my first race in Holland with the Yakuza’s I fell in love with them it surprised me that they came unused out of the bag and flew so well.

Cya soon guy’s
