The first round of the German Buggy Championships took place over the Easter weekend - Rob, Tom and Chasta stopped off on route to Norway for a month’s testing, with the final Yakuza protos.
Saturday was cancelled due to flooding on the beach and a lack of wind, and after a big party at Cafe Kom on Saturday night, most riders were sporting huge hangovers on day 2. The Dutch team showed up in full force for the comp; Ozone Team rider Michel Dekker only turned up for 2 days and took first position with the Yakusa 6m in the first race on Sunday.
Dominik finished the 2nd race on Sunday in 2nd position only to lose 15 positions due to jumping the start gate!
The last race day was on Monday and Dom made up for the day before by taking first place, leaving him in 4th place overall at the end of the comp. Björn had some bad luck in all races and ended up 23rd in the ranking & Kim ran well and ended up 15th overall.
The Yakuza was in the top 3 in every race and as Michel said “it`s obvious that the Yakuza is now the kite to beat” - this is excellent news for us all here at Ozone, as it`s been a long process to develop a worthy replacement for the Razor. A big thanks must go to all involved: Rob, Tom, Michel Dekker, Graham Steel, Chris Hill, Dominik Zimmerman, World Champion Bjorn Krautschick and all the other Ozone team riders for their contribution.
The Yakuza will be in the shops in May, more info will follow on the website.
