Thierry Guibal >> French championship stage

Te wiadomości oczekują na przetłumaczenie. Dziękujemy za cierpliwość.

Last weekend the French championship stage at Saint Brévin les Pins on the Atlantic cost took place. I was a bit tired after 9 hours on the road by night and an early briefing! The morning rounds followed on from one another pretty quickly.

With my brand new set of Yakuza GT, I was ready!

3 rounds on Saturday: The day began with an earth wind blowing at 20 knots. For this first round I started with my 6.8m. In spite of a big minute delay in the first ones, I made up on the lost time to finish 5th.

In the second round, still with the 6.8m, still with my minute of delay… after the second lap, I took back the top of the race. The kite was really fast on the edge of up wind and down wind, with pretty surprising accelerations! That was where I made an error:  my kite stalled and touched the sand, collecting some shells in the line set before it re-inflated. I had to put my kite down to clean it.. grrrrr…  that made me waste some precious time, but I succeed to overtake some of the other riders (pretty easily finally!! because with those kite you can get heaps of extra power & are able to go much more upwind!…even if it was not enough to get back to the first place!)

In the 3rd & last rounds; the wind was dropping, I chose the 8.6m, took a not so bad departure. But the wind got stronger! I fighted to keep the kite in my hands! Until my harness broke! It was too hard to re-hang of it, obliging me to depower the kite at each turn’s lap… Nevertheless, I took more and more speed between each lap, down wind & up wind! Yakuzaaaa! And finished on the 3rd place!

The last day was off, “pétole” (no wind) as we say in French! … I keep my 3rd place!

If you’re looking for power & stability, stop looking! The Yakuza Gt range rocks!
