David Van Boven >> Windekind 2010 7th march
This news piece has not yet been translated but will be soon, thank you for your patience.
After the first race of 2010 was cancelled this one at Oostduinkerke was the upcoming one.
Once at the beach the sun was shining and there was a nice 3-4 bf side-shore wind. This was better then the 2-3 bf EAST that was predicted.
The first match I started with the Yakuza GT 8.3m². My teammate Jasper chose the 10m². With the start I was 1 second to early over the line. This race I finished 1st but because of my early start I was put back, with Jasper in 1st.
The 2nd race I made the choice for the 6.8m² but after some laps I decided to switch to the 8.3. Bad decision as a lap further, the wind picked up. But because of the depower the Yakuza GT has, I managed to keep battling for the top 3. Jasper finished 1st and I was 2nd.
The third match Jasper and I both chose the 6.8m². This seemed to be the best bet. From start to finish I was in a hard battle with Jasper. In the last lap I even got a bunch of sand and salt water in my eyes but I could keep up my lead and finished around 50m in front of Jasper. This was one of the matches we both enjoyed the most ever. Never was the competition between us so big. And the distance at the end so small!
Robert grabbed the Yakuza GT 5.5m² from Jasper the last race. Finishing in 3rd place, he secured his 3rd place on the podium.
1. Jasper De Swert
2. David Van Boven
3. Robert Smits
This was my first race with the Yakuza GT and the performance really impressed me! Never before I had this feeling. This kite has everything. Stability, performance and great handling. I love it!
I would advise everyone to test this kite. And test it to the max. The Yakuza GT will bring u to a new level!
