we are over the moon with the news from our German buggy team we have just received. They held their last races for the German championship the last weekend on the island of Borkum / North Germany. Also our Team riders David van Boven and Robert Smits from Belgium & Netherlands joined the races and swept the podium using the latest protos of our soon coming high performance race kite the “Quantum”.

Conditions were very tricky down to the light winds and very wet beach and big dunes. Anyway in the first of the two Master class races David and Malte become 1st and 2nd both using the 13.5m Quantum Proto. In the next race Malte was unlucky with a line snap but David performed again and came in 3rd leaving him as the overall winner of the weekends races.

That also meant for Malte that he is German Champion one more time for 2013 using the Quantum protos in every race within the last season. Dominik entered the races in the open class and also became first in both races using the 11.2 and 9.5m Quantum. Well done guys and congratulations from everyone here at Ozone.

We are working full speed to get the Quantum into the market and it won’t be long for its public release. We just need to get a few things sorted before getting it in full production. We will keep you updated on our website and on Facebook with news…

The Access has been designed for riders looking for an incredibly versatile and easy kite to fly. For riders new to the sport the Access is the benchmark, from your first lessons on the snow to learning how to jump, the Access is the perfect tool for all new comers to snow kiting. More experienced riders will find it is perfect to have in your quiver when the conditions or terrain get more demanding.

The first episode features my self riding the C4 providing massive boost and huge float allowing me to land all my latest tricks with ease. With wind ranging from 15-20mph the 11m was the perfect tool for this session.

Usually I’d have used my Yakuza GT 5.5, but as I just recovered from a wrist fracture done in November, my friend Thomas Bouzerand lent me his 5.0 Method (as he decided to start the race with a Method 4.0 and finally finished with a Yakuza GT 4.5).

That was my first race with the Method but I was told by other pilots that this kite has incredible performances.

As soon as the race began, I was in 4th position. Laps after laps I finally reached 2nd place in total security but quite easily due to the huge depower of the Method. Even if sometimes I was undersized due to this fu***ing wind, I was very surprised by the handiness and the performances of the Method.

As the weather turned out to be just perfect with sunshine and wind for kites from 5.5 to 12 squaremeters we were able to drive five races.

For the first three races my weapon of choice was the Yakuza GT 5 and 6.8. One first and two second places showed that we have still one of the top racekites available.

The last two races I tried some new prototypes we are actually working on. Just for now all I can say is that already this first prototype in 12sqm was fast enough to help me up ending on a second place again. For the last race it looked like the wind will get up so I decided to test a new proto in 9.5sqm, unfortunately the wind doesn’t change and I had not enough power. That’s why I decided to test some different trim options during the race and were only able to become 12th. Never the less I could wipe out that last race and was able to win the first tourstop in 2012.
