What fun can we have in 5mph winds??

Well if you have a 15mtr MantaII, plenty.

Yesterday at our local beach I had chance to see what all the fuss was about, Appo had come back from Oman with tales about this kite and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. As we walked onto the beach there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, sunshine was beating down and not a breath of wind. We unpacked the 15mtr wing gave a little “tug” on the lines, up she went, not only did it fly it was giving me quite a pull and it wasn’t long before I jumped into my buggy and headed of up the beach on a nice little cruise.

Once you get the kite moving you can just “lock” it into position and there it stays giving you heaps of traction. For such a big wing it turns so easy, up-turns & downturns, even in wind peaking at 5mph there was enough to not only cruise around but also enough for some freestyle action, small floaty jumps were possible and even managing to get some rotational jumps in too!!

By this time other kiters had joined us and as they had problems even getting kites to stay airborne, we decided to let them play. One of my flying friends, Libbi jumped at the chance to fly the MantaII 15mtr, within minutes of static flying it, she had jumped into her trusty chariot and was cruising the 3 mile stretch.

We have all dreamed as we have sat on a beach in low wind of a magical kite that will fly in such conditions, and this is it, the 15mtr MantaII is a thing of dreams.

So a big thank you to Ozone… Dreams can come true.

Cheers Candice
