Things are hotting up in the Pyrenees, with new snowkiting venues appearing everywhere.
On the 29th & 30th January, the Llagonne airfield played host to a snowkite meeting organised by local club Pep`Air. The fresh snowfall from the week leading up to the event attracted a lot of people, and despite poor visibility on the Saturday 25 people still got out on the Llagonne airfield and ripped it up all over the place, with the new snowmound in the middle of the field providing an interesting ramp for blasting from. Later in the afternoon the wind picked up again to about 25 knots and brought white out conditions, but the die-hards just carried on kiting anyway !
Sunday was a beautiful sunny day with light winds, and at least 50 kiters made the most of the perfect conditions. By mid afternoon the wind picked up to 30 knots and finally got blown out, but all in all it was an excellent weekend, and great to see so many people out there doing it !
The 2 local school`s Adrenaline and C-Kite were both there teaching and advising so contact them for more info www.adrenalin-kitesurf.com or www.ckite.com
