Winter Tour Final 2005 Norway
The final of the Winter Tour was held in Geilo, Norway. Not the best week of weather but as ever the crew and the riders made the best of it.
The organisation was top and Jon, the owner of the Lille Bla bar is to thank for that. On the competition site he arranged a massive Rainbow slider, two long rails and some huge kickers and table tops for the riders to boost off.
The final in the Snowboard class saw Chasta and Remi battling it out with handle passes and all the other new style tricks as well as the usual huge airs. Chasta`s top move was on the Rainbow slider, a front side 360 handle pass…….very hot move, executed Chasta style (smooth)!
AG (ArneGeorg) is a very cool friendly kid coming from Norway. This is only his first season competing and he`s already got the style and moves to go far. In the final he was against Sebastian Bubman who is older, much bigger and stronger! AG rode the rails like he has been doing it for years and he pulled off some sweet kite loop moves to take the win. Keep an eye out for this kid because he is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Ski class.
Sigve took third place one the snowboard class and was still smiling like always. He was a bit disappointed because he felt he had a really bad day, one of those days when nothing works. Still we are so happy to have this guy on our team and he will be back next year to push Chasta.
Rannveig Hoff came in second in the women`s which is a great result considering that she has just recovered from a knee injury. Estelle Lambelett eneded up 2nd overall in snowboard helping Ozone reach the podium in every category. It`s great to see that more and more girls are getting into the sport and competition. We all love cool sporty chicks….
These results mean that Chasta is for the third time Word Champion …Woooohoooo. Sigve comes in Second after the combined results, it`s fantastic to have a one two result for the 2nd year in a row.
AG is joint champ with Sebastian after the results are combined from the Col du Lautaret and Norway.
Our thanks and appreciation goes to all our riders representing Ozone, juniors, boarders, skiers and of course the women.
Kite safe,
Rob
