Jeroen “Ozzy” Potters and Alwin “Ali Baba” Brandt recently completed the Transat Des Sables in the Western Sahara in Morocco. The XXtreme is probably the ultimate buggy race, ripping across 600 km of desert through varying terrain is an intense experience. Unfortunately there were only 5 pilots entered into this year?s raid, two from Spain, one from France and the two Dutch pilots.
The Transat is a dream for most of the buggier in the world, and Ozzy and Ali made their dream come true, not only for themselves but also for charity, namely the Make A Wish foundation.
They would like to thank their sponsors for helping them manage to hit the start line. Alan from APTRAXION delivered the kites, the Yakuza for Ozzy and Ali choose the Riot. Ruudje from XXtreme XXrace adjusted the buggy for this trip so they had the right equipment to see them through the 600km
The race this year was very hard, a quote from the organizers speaks for itself,” Satan opened the ovens”!!!
The heat was in incredible, 47?C even in the shade! Even shoes melted on the baking hard surface of Lake Iriqi and the tools for preparing the buggy were too hot to pick up from the ground without gloves or a rag.

Team Transat 2006 collected 2600 Euro for the Make A Wish foundation which made the whole trip even sweeter
