Ozone snowkite team is in Italy, above Roma in the Area call Abruzzo ! It`s a huge place, perfectly dedicated for snowkiting, not as big as norway, but much more diverse, with an enormous potential.
Our Base camp was in Santo Stefano di Sessiano, above L`Aquila. The country side reminds us of the south of France, with dry ground, Olive trees, Almond trees and really old typical houses dating back to the 12th centry.
It`s pretty cold and there is snow everywhere. We managed to find wind every day in a really wide variety of spots. Johan, Fab , Chasta, Tom and Fabs wife, Laurence was there to shoot video and also world class photographer Pascal Boulgakow to shoot stills to show the local riders the full possibility of snowkiting.
The locals are really friendly and guide us during this amazing trip, in particular our special thanks to “Ale” (snowkite/snowboard teacher) and Simon (Ozone distributor in Italy).
Chasta and Boulgy are staying one week more to try to take advantage of this south west wind forecast in the next days and open a new dimension in the Abruzzo snowkite world.
