The organisers of the World Snowkite Championships held in Obertauern, Austria had everything in place to make this the 1st seriously high profile media event with $20,000 prize money.
The only thing lacking was some smooth wind and visibility for the Worlds top riders attending from around the globe
The snowkite area is bang in the centre of this great ski resort offering our sport excellent public awareness during the event. Even though the conditions were far from ideal the important part was that so far there has been over 25 hours of TV coverage logged by the marketing company promoting the event around the world on TV stations such as CNN and Eurosport.
Due to the conditions the men`s Freestyle snowboard rounds were not completed nor the Men`s race ski or snowboard, bummer for all the riders and organisers!! But our young stars Damien Pattou (15) and Arne Georg (15) or AG as he`s known came through with the results for Ozone.
Damien was crowned World Champion in snowboard freestyle and Ag 1st freestyle ski juniors (5th Overall men`s) and 2nd in junior race.
