Graham Steele clean sweep at 2nd leg of the UK National Buggy Championships

Graham Steele reports on his top result at the second round of the UK National Championship organised by the PKA. 3 races and Gray pulls into overal lead with 3 1st’s

“Day 1 Saturday 16th April, wind 19mph. With only three races run in the first round of the Championships this round could count for a lot! Sitting in second place I was a little concerned when I saw the state of the beach and it being my first outing on the final new Yakuza.

With just two short banks dry enough to buggy on and a canal of water deep enough to float a barge through it was going to be a difficult race. Especially as the wind was blowing down the beach! I opted for the 8.6m which I think concerned my competition to the point where they choose kites that were a bit big for them.

I was not to concerned about my choice but the test team in Europe, Bjorn, Dominik and Michel had said you could go big! I was rewarded instantly as we raced up the beach with a clear performance advantage and thus a victory.

Race 2 less wind so I went even bigger to the 10m. This time I really was on the limit but the kite still pulled me along and despite my watch breaking and missing a good start and a collision I found my self dicing for the lead when the leader missed the mark on the second lap making it all over for him and I got to taste a victory again!

Day 2 Shocking off-shore winds with unbelievable turbulence. I took the new 5m not really knowing what was in store for me. I drove very cautiously and used every bit of performance advantage the new kite offered me to steal victory in what was to be a close finish” Graham Steele

Top result Graham, 1st in all 3 races with the final pre-production Yakuza proving that the Yakuza is more than just ahead on the pace, its been leading the race series in all countries with the protos the past months.

Production is about to start so book a demo at your local shop now….
