Ozone Snowkite Masters Day 5 and final report

I could not have dreamed for a better event…yeah for sure the snow was thin on the ground for the first couple of days making it demanding for the riders and sad looking for the photographers, but even that fact could not dampen the mood or spirits of everyone attending. The OSKM developed into a dream event, every rider and all the press who came left exhausted from the riding and the late night parties but with huge satisfied grins and fully stoked!

Out of the 5 days it was only on the first day that no riding took place due to a lack of wind…the rest of the event we were riding everyday. The snow was thin but on Friday afternoon it started dumping, huge snowflakes which really had everyone excited… that night it continued to dump and we awoke for the final day to 50cm of fresh powder with clearing skies.

We couldn’t have asked for more…it was very jammy of us to get the final day with dreamy conditions for the riders and photographers… The sky fully cleared at the Col and with blue skies and a great base of snow, Chasta and the guys were soon ripping it up. All of the top snowkite photographers were there including Fred Pattou, Bertrand Boone, Gus Hurst and Christian Black, the images they captured will soon be gracing the many kite mags as well as mainstream magazines…Pascal has sent me some low res images for us to taste here….I haven’t seen the other photographers images yet but we are guaranteed some incredible pictures both on and off the snow!!!

Everyone gave it there all including the many local helpers that helped make the event so special. A big thanks is deserved to Xavier and Dee, owners of the Frog and Tadpole holidays, our excellent base for the week where we enjoyed 3 course meals and copious amounts of wine every night.

A big thanks to Mike and Amy at the Extreme Bar where we kicked the evenings parties of every night and thanks to our top crew of DJ’s, Jazz, Jaggae, Gee and Majiid. They really stepped it up a notch, their music is too good…..it just makes you stay and party …very addictive, thanks guys!!

Other people to thank include Lynn from the Hotel Plein Sud where many of the media stayed in Luxury and where we enjoyed a great pre dinner drink and canapés before our final dinner at the Frog on Saturday

Also a big thank you to cool clothing sponsor Ultranectar. Chip Wasson who was one of the invited riders to the event but had to bail at the last minute…he told me it was due to work at his company UN…but maybe it was the lack of snow!! You were missed Chip but thanks for the cool OSKM Hoody`s that they gave everyone attending. Check out Ultranectars cool website for the coolest multi sport apparel. If you are in the market for a new pair of skis you should also check out our co-sponsor Zag Skis, a small company that is putting out top quality products. The Freestyle and Gold models are both beautiful to ride with. The Zag crew were at the event everyday offering demos to anyone interested.

The biggest thanks of all goes to Regis Labaune, Wareck Arnaud, Hubert Lampin and Corrine. The five of us put the effort into making the event run…it was surprisingly stress free and we are really excited for the future OSKM growth. Regis pulled together the amazing DJ`s and with Wareck made sure we received premium exposure on Canal +, the main TV network in France that is airing amazing images of snowkiting. Hubert and Corrine work for the Serre Chevalier resort and were the official press officers making sure all the media were kept happy…

For those of you interested in joining us to learn more about snowkiting and to enjoy the super low prices offered by TadPole Holidays make sure you keep checking the news.
