Ozone team at Frinton

When I heard that my friends Ash Garwood, Jack Elston and James (Floyd) Tideswell were being put on the Ozone Land team I quickly arranged for them to come down to my hometown of Frinton for a team kite session. Unfortunately Jack could not make it but Ash and Floyd came down for a play. Ash got to mine and we headed down to the beach to meet Floyd there. Both me and Ash were flying the 9m Sport+ and Floyd was on the Frenzy FX and FYX.

The wind started light in the morning but by lunchtime it was blowing quite strong and ended up being about 30mph by the end of the day. We all went out aiming to have a good session but after Floyd had done a few jumps he landed badly and twisted his ankle so he could not ride for the rest of the day. So it was just down to me and Ash, but now we had Floyd as a dedicated but injured cameraman for the day.

This was Ash’s second fly of the Sport+ and he seemed to be getting dialed into it nicely by throwing 360 board varials, handlepasses and kiteloops, you could tell he was loving the kite. I was having a great time on the Sport+ as the wind was picking up and the tricks were getting bigger and higher, the kiteloops on this kite were out of this world. I was looping and jumping as high and higher as they were on the water. At the end of the day we put a small video together for you to enjoy.
