Easter Buggy Races SPO/ Germany - Yakuza GT rules
Just in and as hot off the press as the Yakuza GTs are off the production line comes this excellent news from our German Buggy team… thanks Malte
Just in time, some of our brand new Yakuza GTs arrived in St. Peter Ording for the Easter races of the German Championships 2009. All of us were really stoked that the Ozone factory managed to get them ready and shipped in time. Thanks!
On Friday we had the inscription and were able to make some shots with all the riders, just have a look into them. Shortly before the races Jasper arrived and we had a breakfast on the beach together being lucky about really nice weather conditions and our new kites. Using my 12m Yakuza GT I was able to win both races on this day followed by Jasper on place 3 and Björn and Lars in the top 10. So far, a great day for the whole Ozone Team. Furthermore the GTs were also dominating on Sunday.Taking the 8.3m GT Björn could win the 3rd race followed by me on place three. After that we had to test a new 10m Proto in the race – obviously it was quite fast – and I won that run too. Finished for today cause the wind dropped down to more or less nothing we had a great blast on the 17m for the first time in the buggy. It was amazing, really stable, fast and with enough ground power you need in deep sands. The last two races took place on Monday morning, having really bad winds from east the race head decided to go for an easy course with only 3 marks, so a real speed course where you need a fast and easy to handle kite. Like on the first day we went for the 12m GT and after 30min hard racing I was able to end up first again.
Overall Results for the weekend:
1st Malte
4th Björn
13th Jasper (he had to wipe out one race)
14th Lars (first time with the GTs)
Thanks for the nice weekend hopefully we manage to meet again at Borkum for the next racing weekend in germany!
Cheers Malte
Thanks for the news Malte, well done on your 1st place and to the other team member’s great results out of 50 masterclass racers.
Keep ripping on those race kites
