The weather gave us everything from sunshine and no wind to rain and max wind!
17 teams 51 pilots including the German Viper team  meant that competition was strong.

Slowly but surely team Ozone eeked out a small lead during the day. It was when conditions started to get difficult that we seemed to excel with good team communication keeping the pilots out on the right kite. When it started to rain heavily Ozone imported Chris Hill got out the latest water kite the Instinct and Adrian was able to run really fast with it increasing our lead dramatically!

We always new that the event could be won or lost during the night and that would be where team organisation would pay off the most.

Adrian and I both did 2hrs in the dark until the rain cam down and the wind dropped. By the time morning dawned we were 40km in the lead. We managed to hang on to this margin till the end giving us a total of 640km and a new world record for distance travelled by parakart in 24hrs.

A great and gruelling event I recommend it to everyone for next year!!

Cheers Graham Steele
