We were all excited about getting down to Cornwall, for The Gwithian Gathering 07, organised by MJB kites. Travel arrangements were made and we made it down OK.

Chris had a few issues with the Ozone bus using 5ltrs of water every 50 miles and said he was getting quite bored with all the stops he had to make to get there..!! Friday was supposed to be kitesurf comp, but due to offshore winds, it wasn’t safe. The weather was awful. Dan was so keen to get wet, we went to Marazion where the wind was onshore. Butch and Dan got out for a session loving both the Edge and the Sport 9mtrs even though it was squally conditions.  

Saturday was one of those great days, onshore wind, mid teens, and sunshine. The beach was rocking with all types of action happening. We had a small buggy race, Butch racing on a landboard, followed by a freeride session, then a board and buggy comp, as the tide crept in, gnarly tricks were going off, with Phatdan showing off the freestyle potential of the ‘HAKA’ and Dan Frewin winning the landboard comp on an Instinct.  The fun continued as we met up in the evening for the prize giving. It got messy..!!! tequilas, vodka, and loads of fun with a group of crazy kiters.  

The event was supporting  ‘Cancer Research’, It was  great start to our ’07 travels with Ozone, We left on Sunday with driving rain and spray for 6hrs, but we left inspired, and the ideas flowed, looking forward to the next time.
