Chris never sits still for long and is normally seen racing around the UK in his van visiting kite shops and events or in his buggy racing round the beaches. Chris’s energy and enthusiasm for the sport is incredible, he puts so much into the kite scene in the UK so we are psyched for him that his dream of snowkiting his local hills with his daughter Nikki has finally happened.

” Well now, our recent history of travelling and kiting has been smitten by getting to beautiful locations and having to cope with minimal or no wind situations.
The optimistic side of my personality always comes to the fore with philosophical anecdotes as to the fickle nature of the weather or simply having a run of bad luck.
So you can imagine how stoked I was the other day when returning from one of these low wind excursions to Eastern Europe, when the weather forecast said ‘SNOW AT HOME’
Baa Humbug thought I, and went to bed not wanting to get my hopes up. Sure enough, next morning came and it was white everywhere and still more snow was falling as snow squalls came and went with the unstable air pushing down from the North West. Well now, we are not talking Col De Laurteret here, just a dump of snow that is pretty rare for these parts and the chance to take my kites and snowboard on the mountain. Welsh Style.
You will see from the pictures that there was only barely enough snow, but this didn’t matter unless you found the odd gorse bush showing its spines through the snow…..! We were snowkiting at home:))
I loved kiting on the hillside, a new style to learn and both Nikki and myself really now understood that this is the freeride future.
