I just arrived to France after the PKRA Holland in Den Hague. That was the second stop of the PKRA. I’m super stoked with my second position as it is my best result in an International event so far. After my third place in Mexico the month before I’m now ranked 2nd overall on the Pro Tour.

In the first two days of the event we had pretty strong wind conditions so the organisers decided to start with freestyle as the forecast was not looking so good for the rest of the week and freestylers had to do trials to get into the main event. So on day two they already managed to finish the single eliminations and they even started with the doubles. No racing for us.

Day three was the first day of competition for the racers. We completed only one race as the wind was very light. Ozone team mate Adam Koch won that first race and I managed to get a second place on my 13 meter Edge. The rest of the riders where on 17’s and 18’s. I totally chose the wrong kite sizes for this event. That shows how powerful and big the wind range is on the Edge. I just Love it!

We had four more races during days four and five. Adam, Bryan Lake and Riccardo Leccese (Ozone) were alternating top 3 positions in each race so they were very tight and any one could get first place, which actually was not decided until the very last day.

On the sixth and last day of the competition, Bryan was leading the event, close behind followed Riccardo and Adam in third. Nobody was expecting any more wind. Miraculously it came and two more races were completed. Adam dominated both of them scored two firsts places which gave him a very deserved victory by .04 points. He is now leading the overall PKRA ranking.

It is always great seeing Ozone team riders on the podium, two in the men’s division and myself in women’s.

Now we are just here in Hyeres in day 1, waiting for some wind to fill in. Unfortunately the forecast doesn’t show more than 7 knots for the entire week.

I’m here in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, competing in my first PKRA event. It feels great to finally be here with my brother, Johnny, competing on the international scene. There are about 25 racers from more than 10 countries, including 6 women in the fleet.

In the first 3 days we had 7 races total. I rode on all 3 Ozone Edges I registered for the event, 17m, 13m, & 9m, which shows the variety of wind conditions we’ve seen. With the constantly changing wind conditions, we’ve all seen how important it is to be comfortable racing on a kite that’s not quite ideal for the immediate conditions. For the first race of the event, there were riders on all kites between the sizes of 18m and 9m. I’m learning the importance of kite choice verses my competitors, and feel that had I made better kite choices I would have much more competitive.

One of the best female riders in the world is here, Katja Roose, and it’s been fun battling with her for first. I managed to beat her in 2 of the 7 races, and I’m holding onto second place overall for the women. Nuria Goma (Ozone) has been third in every race. Johnny is in first place overall after winning 4 races, with Bryan Lake in second and Adam Koch (Ozone) in third. Once again my local San Francisco guys are dominating the event, but there’s plenty of international competitors who are in the top of the pack. It’s good to see the Ozone Edge holding down 6 of the top 10 places at a pro tour event….

Today the wind was light and offshore, so we didn’t race. The standings stayed the same with Johnny holding down first place, Bernie in 2nd, and Adam in 3rd. I’m stoked on my 2nd place finish in my first ever PKRA event, and ready for the next one! Thanks for all the help Ozone.

Hi everyone,

My time here is coming to a close but I’ve had just enough time away from kiting to be able to produce another video from this brilliant location.

The brief I gave myself for this video was to be able to show how good the 2012 7m C4 is. I have had many sessions on the 7m here riding the powerful sea breeze, which can frequently get up to 30 knot’s and I wanted to show just how much fun the 7m C4 can be in these winds, with its superb depower and fantastic stability it’s the perfect kite for a high wind session.

Featured in this video is newly announced German ozone rider Felix Stelter and the young local machine that is 17 yr old Jayden Bosveld.

Grahame Booker C4 2012 video

Hi everyone,

Check out this Grahame Booker edit from a recent trip to Western Australia with Steve McCormack. The guys travelled to WA to shoot a 4 line power kite instructional and visit dealers, one of whom is based at the renowned Safety Bay.

Jason Lewis from WestOzkiteboarding helped out and introduced his very talented team, which includes Felix Steltner, some footage was supplied by Felix and Ash Garwood (Push Kiting member http://vimeo.com/pushkiting) which was shot around Albany and later in the week they traveled to Wedge Island and Lancellin to shoot some more.

Hi everyone, Ash Garwood here reporting from Safety Bay, Western Australia on my time away from land boarding learning the way of the kite surfer.

Its been a while since I’ve wrote any thing here, this is my second season riding on the water, I’ve been riding the C4’s for over 3 seasons on the land and naturally to help myself progress on the land and incorporate different tricks into my style I’ve been kite surfing to learn the unhooked moves which no one else has yet to land on a land board. Using the C4’s I’ve been able to progress very quickly developing my style and taste for new school unhooked riding very easily. I love particularly the power these kites produce, they constantly pull but still provide you with that much needed slack line mid trick enabling you to pass the bar easily. I’ve found my progression has been constant and with the beautiful conditions of the spot I have been riding I have been able to push myself to start ticking off tricks on my wish list.

I have also found my self behind the camera a lot this season as well, i have recently invested in new equipment and have been using my knowledge of kite boarding to get some sweet clips down. I wanted to create a video which shows how the C4 has no limits and how it is just a sweet kite to ride.

Featured in the video is 21 year old Felix Stelter (GER) Glenn Swart (GER) and 17 year old Jayden Bosveld … here is what Jayden has to say about his views on the C4:

“This is the first year that I’ve been riding the C4, but I very quickly began to like everything about it. This kite is very smooth in the air and has a really nice direct feel to it. It gives a very solid pop and leaves a bit of slack in the lines making it perfect for handle passes. The looping capabilities of this kite are great; it gives a strong, grunty pull and is quick to catch you before you land. What really struck me with this kite was the attention to detail – the rubber coated center line at the bar prevents you from chaffing your fingers away; the hardy valve system is simple and impossible to break (every other kite I have had has had issues with the valve popping open, but I have had no problem with the C4); the lines are thin and smooth but feel extremely solid and the general build quality of the C4 is impeccable. The C4’s graphical design is simple and aesthetically pleasing as well, and my mum likes them because she can easily recognize its distinguished features and so can easily find me in a crowd of kites.”
