Ozone takes 3 from top 5 >> PKRA France Course Racing
Te wiadomości oczekują na przetłumaczenie. Dziękujemy za cierpliwość. What a week! Planes, trains, and automobiles! That was half of it…and the other half was spent on the beach in Hyeres doing the wind dance. At this usually epic venue we somehow ended up with one of the lightest weeks the locals could remember. Fortunately the race committee did a great job of using the wind we got. On day 3 we sailed 5 races in 8-15 kts of offshore breeze with super flat water.
Although it was quick, this was quite possibly the most competitive racing I’ve been in all year. With only 5 races consistency was the name of the game, and Ozone rider Riccardo Leccese killed it in this department. He held it together, posting all top-three finishes. This is exactly what it takes to win a PKRA event.
I had made one huge mistake…dropped my kite while reaching to the finish line of race 2 in 2nd place….total rookie move! Luckily I was able to relaunch my 17m Edge while still standing on my board and finish 4th. That woke me up and I stepped it up from there on. I was stoked on an awesome port-tack start that gave me a good jump in race 4 that I held onto through the finish.
Huge congrats to Riccardo for his first PKRA win. I’m super excited to have another Ozone rider up there with us, and so is he…check out the smile on that guy!!
Ozone takes 3 of the top 5 positions, with Adam Koch also sailing really well in 5th place. He just had a little learning experience about checking the protest times…..the rest of us are just lucky he made this mistake before we had the chance to.
