Summer up north in Norway
This news piece has not yet been translated but will be soon, thank you for your patience. Hi everyone,
Summer and wind has reached our team up in Norway, and they seem to spend all possible sparetime on the water.
You know, our country is so far up north that it never gets dark at this time of year. That gives us a lot of time to play - even after work, says Sigve Botnen who now works part-time as a carpenter to afford the life he wants to live. The Ozone-buddies Sigve Botnen and Christian Nerdrum have played a lot on the water lately. After a bad spring, the wind has been blowing for weeks in a row now.
If there is no wind, we go wake surfing behind our friend Andre Natlands boat, biking or cable wakeboarding. As long as we can do all that, we are always prepared for the wind, says Christian who just had an epic session in the waves outside the local spot at Larkollen.
I have never seen it this good before, and it was strange it could become this good in the summer. That wave both sucks and blows, and since the reef is so shallow it really cleans up too. If you hit that wave right, it is possible to tube it, and I had a slight sensation of that this day. But then i messed it up, crashed and got the sport II in the wave. I was sure the little ripper was messed up after that tumble, but quire remarkably the kite was just fine! says Christian
Later that day, Sigve tests his leg after the sprain he had a couple of weeks ago. The leg was quite fine, and I could do my frontmobes, s-bent to blind etc, so I´m back! smiles the talented Norwegian.
