Our thanks to Peter Vander Linden for this great result with the Instinct in Belgium recently. Read on for his email to us:
“20th may we had a hangtime competition in Heist, Belgium.
I just tested the New Ozone Instinct 9m² and 11m² the day before in the waves very shortly. I had lots of fun with waveriding, because it has a direct feeling like the C-kites (no pulleys) and it sails VERY comfortable. I jumped very few as i sailed only 1 hour. But the lift and hangtime felt very good, so I asked to Raf Van Win (Belgian importer Ozone) to use this kite for the hangtime AND it wasn’t a bad decission.
Next day, most Competitors of the Belgium kitetour where present. Even Jan Stockman my oldschool buddy and master in hangtime, sailed with me in the heat. The conditions where gusty, slight offshore wind, 7Bft. I didnt know exactly how to get best airtime with the kite, as I didnt try a lot before. The heats where 10min so time enough to have fun and try out a little. I was surprised that I had the longest hangtime: 6.28sec because i really had fun, and saw Leander flying really high and long but he was second ! Leander (belgian n°1 for the moment) had 5.98sec
I wondered if I just had a lucky shot with a gust, so I asked the jury sheet. Amazing, I had an average time of all jumps +/- 5sec When I compared with the other riders, my average was the highest, so no doubt, that kite rules !Well thanks to Ozone for this revolutionary kite !!
