Vans are being packed at every corner and boards are being tied to roofs while sails are maintained in front yards and wetsuits, wax, sun protection and spaghetti are hectically being stashed inside.

At these occasions the luck of residing in a city located relatively close to the danish border leads to an enormous stream of Kielers tripping up north to Denmark. A couple of days are reserved for the hunt for waves and wind - feeling slightly exotic as „Hvide Sande“, „Nørre Vorupør“ and „Klittmøller“ just have a different sound to them than „Grüner Brink“, „Timmendorfer Strand“ or „Sankt Peter Ording“.

Even the drive of four to six hours (depending on where in Denmark to go.) suddenly seems a lot more worthwhile, with three or more instead of just two days on the water are to be had.

A bunch of Ozone riders have been taking the same old spin for a few weekends now, too. The old cyclus of wavehunting, hanging with friends on the beach and cooking Spaghetti in the evening before falling into the van - wrecked but happy. This year the temperatures were sometimes tough, to say the least. Nights in the van with two winterjackets, snowboardtrousers and a beanie are usually not the rule for may in Denmark – but happened this year. Still the trips wer worth every shive. I’m currently in New Caledonia shooting with the new Zephyr before its upcoming worldwide release on March 1st. Between sessions on the Zephyr, I’ve had some windy conditions awesome for shooting some clips on the new C4, check out the video below!

I am really liking the new C4. It’s one of those things; you know the first moment you fly something if it’s a winner. For me it was the first launch on the C4, and I knew right then and there that this kite is going to deliver. And from there it just got better and better, further exceeding my expectations.

It took virtually no time at all to get accustomed to the kite. This is unheard of in a kite. Everything is very intuitive and it’s a real testament to the work Ozone does behind the scenes tuning and always developing their kites for the better.

It has unparalleled performance both hooked in and unhooked, as well as an extremely solid feel. I don’t have to worry about the kite for I know where it is all the time; a very direct feel. On a side note, did I mention the Ozone kites look freaking amazing!?!? Visually appealing is an understatement; they look insanely good!

Looking forward to seeing where my riding progresses throughout the year. I’ve only been on the C4 for a few months and already it feels like I’ve been on it for years. I can’t wait to see where the C4 can take me.

After just winning the Int. Snowkite Championship and becoming German Snowkite Champion she will now be riding the latest material from Ozone on water and snow. Ozone Germany is pleased to welcome Inga as the first girl on the team.

The 28-year-old from Lake Constance will be riding the C4 for freestyle and the Edge for race. “The C4 is really a great kite, which I get on very well even at the gusty Lake Constance. I am sure that I can much increase my level with these kites. I am also particularly pleased to be sponsored by a company that deals with issues such as social responsibility for its workers. This is an issue that unfortunately in the kitesurf industry so far is paid far too little attention.“

After 4 events and 4 podiums, I was crowned Female French Champion in Race 2012, thanks to my foil and my Catalyst. 4 events each rich with various conditions: Villeneuve les Maguelone, La Tranche sur Mer, Wimereux and at last Quiberon in Britain.

Hard conditions in Villeneuve for the Festikite with strong wind and big waves, light wind In La Tranche a,d Wimereux, and then again strong wind in Quiberon where for the last event with my Catalyst 2013 I placed 6th from 59th riders at scratch and 1st woman!

Thank you to Alixa Team, and Ozone who have created wonderful kites: just take a look at the podiums, in Cagliari with the Edge, or in France with the Catalyst, one thing is sure… you must get Ozone kites!

Progressive Newschool & Freeride

The new C4 has been completely redesigned with progressive newschool & free riders in mind. At the heart of the C4 is an all new generated arc offering a more C-kite feel, without compromising the easy de-power and simple relaunch characteristics of past C4 generations.

Although some changes in design are not obvious to the eye almost everything has changed. The aspect ratio, arc, planform, profiles and sail tensions are all new, further enhancing the ride and feel for progressive unhooked riding.

Freeriders will still feel at home on the C4 with our Variable Bridle Geometry, giving the option of two kites in one. The Variable Bridle is simple with no lines to add or remove, and takes only a short moment to change. With these two settings the C4 boasts advanced unhooked attributes as well as comfort and easy to reach performance for everyday freeriders.

New School - The New School setting offers a heavier and direct feel, with a more powerful load up and pop perfectly suited to Freestyle and Wakestyle riders. The C4 ships standard on this setting.

Free Ride - The Freeride setting offers a lighter bar feel and increased de-power which is perfect for Freeriding and also in the waves. To use this setting simply shift the middle bridle lines to the pigtail knot closest to the leading edge.

Each size in the C4 line up has been individually refined, we aimed to perfect turning and flight speeds across the board resulting in a more predictable kite when unhooking, kite looping or jumping. The C4 is an amazing Newschool & Freeride machine, but as always make sure you get out there and take a test ride to see for yourself.
