Hi Team Ozone,
Just getting back into things after my trip to Fiji - here’s a quick update and there are some photo’s of the lovely spot at www.suk.co.nz/Fiji/
Day one was lovely and sunny with a 12 knot breeze, so I was out on my 11m Ozone Instinct and the 142×42 Decay Broadsword. It was good showing off for Stephen Whitesell - fantastic kiting photographer - who gave me plenty of tips. Will hopefully get some shots for you soon. Day 2 was a chilled day with hardly a breeze, so the girls went cliff jumping and hiking up to waterfalls and through villages - Fiji is beautiful.
Day 3 and the wind filled in and was to stay for the rest of the trip, picking up to 30knots! Still on my 11 Instinct I had to pull out my 130×38.5 Decay Katana to be able to go out and mix it up with the top women in the world on their 6, 7, 8 and 9’s.
The rest of the week blurred with a lot of windy days, downwinders, races and a freestyle expression session. I’m proud to say I brought home the trophies for the amatuer division - two beautifull Fijian carvings that’ll look great on the mantlepiece. I placed first in the race around marks from one point to another, as well as first in the expression session.
That kite is remarkable and I was feeling confident on the last day to do my kiteloops and unhooked moves in the high winds - which earned me that trophy!
On my return I ended up on the front page of the sports section of the The Northern Advocate, have attached scan of article.
Thanks for your great support!
Su K
