Do not forget kitesurfing is for having fun at first, so a couple of friends and I thought it would be great to take our Ozone catamaran out to island of famous actor “Marlon Brando” to explore the island with our kites.
Yves was captain, Arnaud the Second, Didier, Yannick and me Tam.

Tetiaroa is located  60 kilometers North from Moorea and is a sanctuary for wild life. It took us 6 hours to get there, the island is just far enouth there is no cell phone connection. So it feels like you are at the end of the world. Everything is so quiet. Hundreds of birds everywhere you look. Big Fregates gliding slowly into the air. Small baby birds all white on the beach and into the bush. Even the whales are coming to see us in the morning.

The Lagoon inside is waist deep for most and mostly sand everywhere! The wind here is much lighter than the big island because the are no mountains producing thermal winds. So I took my 13 Edge II with surf strap and cruized around with those birds coming to me to glide in symbiose with the Edge II less than 1m from it using the soaring that the kite produces. It was like in heaven, with all the colours, from morning to sun set.

Nothing to bother us, no telephone ringing, just the sound of our empty stomac saying stop kitesurfing and get some fish for diner. At night I was glad to have my Ozone beach fleece to keep me warm!

But after a few days, wonder of what’s going on at home in Moorea come in the mind, it was time to head back to telephone connection.

I’d love to go again to Tetiaroa soon with the 09 Instincts
