I’m sitting in the shade at a nice little pub in S. Teodoro (Sardinia) thinking about the fantastic weekend at the “E…Vent” of the year.
This year was only the second edition of the event called “E…vento” of S. Teodorto organized by Renzo Mancini and Sergio Cantagalli. So young it already became the biggest kitesurf event of 2007. It would be enough to think about 120 participants in the open long distance race that took place on Friday!! A real spectacle of colors in the air that once in the open see ( the buoie was at 4 miles before they turned to head back) looked like hundreds of giant colored birds. At the end I don’t know if it would have been nicer to participate but just watching was already beautifull. But I’m sure that it was a great emotion also for all those that where in then race.
The Italian and International Ozone Team Stefano, Dom, Chicco, Mirco, Michele, Alessandro, Er mammella, Giovanni, Sonia, Gabriella, Daniele, Pier. Excuse me if I’m missing somebody but I’m terribile with remembering names…Ah yes….and also Tiger Man!
Anyway, a group of great people with in common the passion for kiteing but above all a the desire to just have fun without that thing, like many kitesurfurs, to appear like some Superman of the “Extreme Sports”. (I have some news for you all! Kitesurf and traction kite in general is not an extreme sport but it’s just an alternative sport which almost anyone can learn)
The three days of the E…vento flew by quik and where great fun. So now we’re on the fairy heading twords Piombino (Tuscany) and I’m hapy to bring back all these memories of beautifull places, nice people, kitesurfing or even just talking or listening to stories about places we didn’t manage to see yet. So our apointment with those spots is just postponed to the next time we will go there and I’m sure there will be many more great experiences to come. At the end that’s the most important. For the moment we will tell about what we HAVE seen and we will look with pleasure at the images the emotions and the memories that those places left us.
